Super Lightweight Green Roof System
Our Super Lightweight Green Roof System is engineered for structures that can't take the weight of a standard extensive build-up. It uses a slim drainage layer, reduced-depth substrate and pre-grown sedum blanket to deliver a complete living roof at around 50 kg/m² saturated - roughly half the weight of a traditional sedum system.

How heavy is the Super Lightweight Green Roof System?
Approximately 50 kg/m² when fully saturated, including substrate, drainage, fleece and sedum vegetation. Dry weight is around 30 kg/m².
Will my shed take a Super Lightweight green roof?
Most shed roofs over 18 mm OSB on 47 × 75 mm rafters at 400 mm centres will carry this system. We always recommend a quick structural check - send us a photo of the underside of your roof and we'll confirm.
What's the minimum roof pitch for a Super Lightweight system?
The system works on roofs from 1° (effectively flat) up to 10°. For steeper pitches, anti-slip battens or tray systems are needed.
